Hotel Amsterdam De Roode Leeuw ★★★★

This location is great for solo travelers, conveniently 8 minutes walking distance to Centraal Station and 10 minutes to the Red Light District. The hotel is next to Starbucks, McDonald's and KFC which is great when on the go. The city itself is small, so you can walk everywhere from the hotel and lots of places to eat and shop nearby. The hotels elevator are great when you have a big luggage, but they also have stairs. This hotel also has a restaurant/ buffet that is available to guests - the breakfast buffet offers coffee, some bread, mini pancakes, yogurt, eggs and cheese. The train stop is in front of the hotel, which is very convenient if you're going to explore Rembrandt, Van Gogh Museum or the Heineken as they're located further out but with the train you're there in 10 minutes. The train passes every 10 minutes and there's no hassle. The hotel room offered a mini fridge, safety lock, coffee/ tea, hair dryer, small storage cabinets, clean towels and corner share. Overall, the hotel stay is good for a short stay!

The room & bed were small and the bathroom was very narrow, only space for 1 person - so it's great for solo travelers, but not more than 2. The elevator was convenient, however, it's very narrow, enough for 2 people and it's slow. The breakfast option was great, but they could offer more variety as the food options was limited.

Excellent location in close proximity to the Central Station

The room was quite humid and the only window within the room was actually opening to an internal corridor space so no fresh air available.

The location was superb - very close to the train station, a lot of attractions and nice restaurants. The breakfast was very nice and had a lot of variety. The rooms were modern and clean and the beds were very comfy.

The only disappointing aspects were the fact that we requested a double bed and got given twin beds and the shower was very small and water went all over the floor as there was no screen or curtain

Overall good quality room nice and clean

One half of the double bed mattress the springs were broken and I sank through. I swapped over with my partner who is a lot lighter but wouldn't have been able to sleep on that side. She didn't have a problem apparently.

Location was great. I requested access to an iron and it was in my room waiting for me upon arrival. Bathroom is of a comfortable size. Room is basically as pictured. Heating worked well.

There was only 1 pillow for the bed (and it looked like all the life had been sucked out of it).

Spacy room in a hotel close to Dam Square

We were fortunate enough to be allocated room 103 which was in view of Dam Sq. The location of the hotel is superb and the staff are pleasant and friendly.

The heater didn’t work and sometimes the hot water wasn’t working. The hotel was great though.

Excellent location. Very comfy beds with extra pillow in cupboard. Excellent coffee in room and more than adequate accommodation. Aircon was a plus.

Not impressed with Housekeeping. They never cleaned the floors or tabletops once during a weeklong stay. Had to "beg" for coffee refills and received drinking glasses after 3rd day of stay. Shower area had a very bad smell to it.

The rooms are small and the photos are deceptive on the website. I had pigeons on a net right by my window. The bathrooms are very small with no proper shower gel/shampoo etc
